Kayla Nicole is a sports journalist, podcast host, and media personality who is also known as the ex-girlfriend of NFL star Travis Kelce. Her Halloween costumes, especially the 2024 story about dressing as Teyana Taylor and the 2025 Toni Braxton tribute, sparked debates that reached fans of sports, music, and pop culture. This article explains the facts in simple words, along with her background, career, and the questions people ask most, so you can separate real details from rumor.

People searching who is Kayla Nicole will find that she is an American media personality, sports journalist, model, fitness entrepreneur, and podcast host. Her full name is Kayla Nicole Brown. She built her name through sports broadcasting and social media, and profiles say she worked with outlets such as ESPN and Barstool Sports before growing her own brand. She also created a wellness brand called Tribe Therepe.
Her show, The Pre-Game With Kayla Nicole, is where many of her personal stories come out. On it she talks about dating, confidence, therapy, and life in the public eye. When readers ask what does Kayla Nicole do, the short answer is that she works across broadcasting, podcasting, fashion, wellness, and online content. She is also a different person from Kayla Nicole Jones, another internet personality with a similar name, so it helps to check the full name when reading about either of them.
Kayla Nicole Age, Birthday, Height, and Family
One of the most common questions is how old is Kayla Nicole. Bio pages report that she was born on November 2, 1991, in Los Angeles, California. That makes her 34 years old today, and her birthday in November will make her 35. She is a Scorpio, and she has joked about that on her podcast.
Her parents are reported to be Roosevelt Brown and Robin Curry, and she reportedly has a stepfather named Gary Curry and three sisters. She studied broadcast journalism at Pepperdine University in Malibu, according to biography sites. Her height is listed differently in different places, from about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, so no number is confirmed. For anyone asking about Kayla Nicole kids or children, there is no reliable report that she has any. She has talked about sharing dogs with a former partner, but that is not the same thing.
Kayla Nicole and Travis Kelce: The Relationship Timeline
The Kayla Nicole Travis Kelce story is the main reason she became widely known. They reportedly began dating in 2017 after connecting on Instagram, and the relationship continued on and off for about five years. They broke up in 2022. Kelce later began dating Taylor Swift, and reports now describe Swift as his fiancée.
After Kelce and Swift became a couple, Nicole unfollowed several of his Kansas City Chiefs teammates and their partners, including Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. Fans read a lot into that, but she has never explained it in detail. The question why did Travis Kelce and Kayla Nicole break up has no official answer, because neither has shared the reason, so anything beyond the timeline should be treated as opinion. Searches like Travis Kelce ex girlfriend Kayla Nicole keep returning to this period, which shows how much public interest remains.
The Kayla Nicole Teyana Taylor Halloween Costume
The Kayla Nicole Teyana Taylor costume story began with a podcast. In October 2024, Nicole appeared on Angel Reese’s show, Unapologetically Angel, and shared what she called the pettiest thing she had ever done. She said a man she was seeing ended things by text for a singer and actress, and that she dressed up as that woman for Halloween. She did not say the name, but fans quickly linked it to Teyana Taylor, and the costume copied Taylor’s look from Kanye West’s 2016 “Fade” video.
Taylor answered indirectly, calling the comments very distasteful and uncalled for, and the story spread across social media. Many fans called it petty, while others called it funny. The situation came back in early 2026 when the clip resurfaced. This is also where Kayla Nicole Iman Shumpert comes in, since Shumpert was married to Taylor from 2016, and she filed for divorce in January 2023.
Kayla Nicole Apology to Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert’s Reaction
The topic of a Kayla Nicole apology to Teyana Taylor appeared in February 2026. Iman Shumpert said he was not bothered by the story, and he added that Nicole had reached out to him privately to apologize. According to him, she said she had not been thinking and was trying to tell a funny story on the spot, and that she did not mean any harm.
Shumpert also said he did not care about the controversy, and that he cared most about seeing his two daughters. It is worth noting that the apology was described by Shumpert, and a public apology from Nicole to Taylor has not been reported. Taylor has not publicly said the matter is settled, so the exact status of things between the two women is unclear. Readers should treat this as one account of a private conversation.
Kayla Nicole Halloween Costume 2025: The Toni Braxton Tribute
In October 2025, Nicole posted a video recreating Toni Braxton’s music video for “He Wasn’t Man Enough for Me,” complete with a metallic mini-dress, sleek hair, and lip-synced lyrics. The Kayla Nicole Toni Braxton costume quickly went viral, and many fans connected it to Kelce and Swift because of the song’s lines about a woman and her ex. Braxton later brought Nicole onstage during a performance of the same song, which added to the attention.
On the October 31 episode of her podcast, Nicole explained the choice. She said she remembered riding home from private school in the back of a car with a childhood friend named Taylor, whose mother played the song. She added that Halloween is her chance to be someone she admires, and that she is not in the business of tearing other women down. She joked that people would rather see her dress as a doctor or Superwoman.
Kayla Nicole and Taylor Swift: Fan Theories and Facts
The Kayla Nicole Taylor Swift connection is mostly built on fan interpretation. When Swift released the song “Opalite” on her 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl, some fans believed its lyrics were aimed at Nicole. Swift has not confirmed that, so a Taylor Swift song about Kayla Nicole remains only a theory.
The costume, a Super Bowl commercial, and social media memes added to the talk. In the commercial, a line about an “ex-girlfriend fiasco” was followed by a moment where Nicole avoided saying the word “swiftly.” Many viewers laughed, and others saw it as a hint. Nicole has said her costume was about celebrating Braxton, and no public statement from either woman confirms a feud, so it is fair to say the story is mostly online speculation.
Kayla Nicole Net Worth, Career, and Social Media
Searches for Kayla Nicole net worth and Kayla Nicole net worth 2025 show estimates of about $1 million to $2 million. These numbers come from websites that do not show documents, so they are rough guesses. Her income is said to come from sports media, brand partnerships, her podcast, and her wellness business.
Her online presence supports all of this. Fans follow her on Instagram (@iamkaylanicole), TikTok, and YouTube, where her Halloween videos and podcast clips often spread fastest. She deactivated her X (Twitter) account in late 2025 after older posts resurfaced, and she has not publicly answered that. Because old tweets and screenshots still circulate on forums, it is wise to confirm the source before believing any of them.
Conclusion
The Kayla Nicole Halloween story comes down to two costumes and the way the public read them. In 2024, the Teyana Taylor story drew criticism and, according to Iman Shumpert, a private apology. In 2025, the Toni Braxton tribute drew Swift-related speculation, which Nicole answered by saying she was honoring a musician she admires. Beyond the drama, she has built a career in media, podcasting, and wellness, and she keeps her private life fairly quiet. There is no confirmed report of a current boyfriend or husband, so any claim about who is Kayla Nicole dating now should be checked against a trusted source. Until she shares more, the safest approach is to rely on what she and reliable outlets have said.
